NIOSH Grants Request from Honeywell to Rescind Respirator Approvals
Honeywell International Inc. has voluntarily rescinded 101 respirator approvals, according to a notice (PDF) posted to the NIOSH website. The rescission affects certain respirators from the company’s Model HM501 and HM502 Series as well as five other models. Respirators bearing the approval numbers listed in NIOSH’s notice are no longer approved by the agency and may no longer be used, manufactured, assembled, sold, or distributed. NIOSH directs individuals to contact Honeywell International for additional information regarding this decision.
These and other announcements about changes to respirator models’ approval status are collected on a NIOSH Respirator Approval Program webpage. Users can confirm that a device or component is valid through the NIOSH Certified Equipment List.
