Updated! Support for Full Functionality and Funding of Core Occupational Safety and Health Institutions Advocacy Campaign
UPDATED: October 15, 2025
The occupational safety and health ecosystem, which includes the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission (OSHRC), the National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health (NACOSH), and the Chemical Safety Board (CSB), is facing significant challenges that threaten its ability to protect workers and communities.
The overall health of this system is at risk. Cutting funding or halting the function of one agency, such as the CSB, OSHRC, or NACOSH, creates systemic dysfunction. A holistic approach that supports all of these interdependent bodies—from research and policy guidance to investigation and legal adjudication—is essential for a comprehensive and effective occupational safety and health infrastructure. Advocacy must focus on restoring function and representation across all of these critical agencies, not just on securing funding.
Bottom Line: Advocacy must go beyond funding; it must also include restoring representation and function across agencies.
